I would totally recommend the OpenRock S earbuds. The battery life is superb, as is the sound quality, they fit comfortably and I do like the charging case. The earbuds are easy to connect and operate. They are great for wearing out and about, for training in the gym, on the turbo and out for a run. They adjust really easily for any size ear, making for a secure and comfortable fit, with no movement whilst being active. I have worn these for running now on the trails, on the road and for doing speed sessions and have had no problems with the sound quality (I am still able to hear traffic) as well as not worrying about whether they will come off.

First impressions of the OpenRock S Earbuds
The earbuds come in a stylish charging case, compact and make a good first impression. Build quality is great and while there is some extra plastic that ideally should be removed the packaging is not over the top.

Testing the OpenRock S Earbuds
The earbuds were fully charged when they arrived. They paired easily to my iphone and I was able to use them straight away. They slide around the top of my ears fairly easily and feel comfortable. For general movement, they stay well in place and do not move around. The buds turn on and off automatically as you take them out of/return them into the charging case. Each earbud can be operated independently of each other, tapping them to start/stop music, change tracks.
The earbuds are a solid build and do not feel like they would break easily. Plus, as the case is so stylish and compact, it is easy to store them away when not in use.
Battery life of the headphones
I have used them for various workouts each day. Listening to music, Netflix and YouTube. From testing them for 2 weeks I haven’t needed to charge the case yet and had over 10 hours of testing.
Sound quality
I am very impressed with the sound quality of the OpenRock S earbuds. As mentioned already I have been reviewing the headphoes while I listen to music at home, on the turbo and whilst out running. I have also listened to podcasts, Netflix and YouTube. In all cases, the sound is clear, good quality and a good volume.
Running with the OpenRock S headphones
I initially thought that the earbuds were too big and so when using them on a run they moved around and weren’t secure. I wore a buff over the top of them to keep them in place. I have since discovered that due to a small rubber section on the earbuds they are totally adjustable. I have quite small ears, so folded the earbuds in, and adjusted them a few times whilst on a run, but now there is no movement at all. When I wore them outside, they felt very comfortable and you almost forget you are wearing them.
Cycling with the OpenRock S headphones
On the turbo, I have found the earbuds work well, and stay in place well. I haven’t used the earbuds for a bike ride outside yet. I will add this detail onto my review. My concern is whether I will be able to use the earbuds, as well as wear sunglasses and my helmet.
Alternatives to OpenRock S
My current headphones are Aftershokz Aeropex. For more information on these read our review of the Shokz OpenRun headphones. They were previously called the AfterShokz Aeropex but rebranded to Shokz. These are similar in that they are bone conduction headphones, so I can wear them whilst out running and cycling, and still hear surrounding noises. They fit over the top of my ears, but are attached to a band that goes around the back of my head.
I would say that in terms of general fit and comfort they are similar. I would say the sound quality is better on the OpenRock S earbuds.
